Central Individual Speech

            The Speech/Drama Department at Central believes no skills are so vital to so many fields of endeavor as those of communication.

 

            Our goal is to motivate individuals towards improving and excelling in all aspects of communications by involving them in a variety of speaking and theatrical experiences, exposing them to a variety of literary material, and aiding them in the practice and performance of dramatics and public speaking.

 

            We expect, as a result of these extracurricular experiences, that students will increase their initiative, confidence, and expertise in formal and social communication skills that will serve them for their lifetime.

           

            The Dramatics and Speech organizations support Board Policy 5149:  Eligibility for Activities (controlled substance abuse).  And encourage and expect students to conduct themselves accordingly.  In addition, any student conduct on or off school grounds which discredits the reputation of Central Community may be considered a discipline problem and will be treated according to the discretion of the activity sponsor.
